This accessibility statement applies to the website www.xictron.com operated by XICTRON web agency, Glockruthenallee 16, 31185 Soehlde, Germany. It covers all German and English language pages available under this domain, including the blog.

Legal Framework

We strive to make this website accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG). Our implementation is guided by the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

Conformance Status

This website is largely compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1, conformance level AA. This assessment is based on a self-evaluation: we continuously test the website with automated tools (including Google Lighthouse and axe) as well as manual checks, such as keyboard operation, screen reader output and display with enlarged text. We address identified barriers as part of our ongoing development.

Measures Implemented

Among other things, we have implemented the following accessibility measures on this website:

• Full keyboard operability with visible focus indicators
• Skip link ("Skip to content") on every page
• Semantic HTML and supplementary ARIA attributes for assistive technologies
• Color contrasts meeting WCAG AA requirements – in both light and dark mode
• Accessibility settings on every page (button at the bottom left): font size in three steps up to 125%, high contrast, reduced animations, link highlighting and light/dark mode – the chosen settings are preserved across pages
• Respect for the system preferences for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion) and color scheme (prefers-color-scheme)
• Responsive display on all common screen sizes
• Scalable font sizes without loss of content or functionality
• Alternative texts for informative graphics

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the website are not yet fully accessible:

• Embedded design demos (iframes) are illustrative design examples and are not fully usable with assistive technologies.
• Some older illustrative graphics in blog articles are purely decorative and do not have a complete text alternative.

We are continuously working to resolve these limitations and to further improve the accessibility of the website.
